Electronic Leak Detection April 2010
Designed Roof Systems now offer an Electronic Leak Detection service. This Hi-tech method of E.L.D. allows our surveyor to detect any punctures or defects in the waterproofed membrane. Upon survey completion a certificate of integrity will be issued to assure the client of a high quality installation.

Annual Charity Golf Day 14th June 2009
Following last years success, this year was always going to be an
uphill struggle from the word go. With a fiercely contested round of
stableford golf, we were very very unfortunate to finish runner up
by the narrowest of margins. Our courageous opponents took the
victory by 5 points, well deserved and extremely good natured 2009
champions. We managed to raise over a £1,000 for breast cancer, Ann
and her staff at the Black Bull, Standish, laid on breakfast and
afternoon tea, it was only fair that we sank back a few beers to
ease the pain of our sunburnt barnets.

Christmas party 23rd December 2008
Speed Karting in Warrington, were the hosts of the Designed Roof
Systems 2008 Christmas party. After 13 intense, adrenaline pumped
heats, Daniel Devlin hit top spot with a well deserved win, closely
followed by John Davies in 2nd place and Paul Hamriding joined them
on the winners podium to finish in 3rd. Everyone that took part had
a fantastic day and we're all looking forward to the next racing
session in 2009...
Ladbrokes Poker Festival 3rd October 2008
Killarney, Ireland.
Martin entered the €550, 3 day main event in Killarney, Ireland. With over 800 players and a total prize pool of over €400,000. After a gruelling 12 hour session on day 1, he returned for day 2 with 12,000 chips, only to be knocked out early in the day. Commiserations and good luck for next year.
Annual Charity Golf Day 15th June 2008
Designed roof systems were victorious in the annual charity event for breast cancer organised and hosted by Ann and all the team at The Black Bull, Standish. An excellent day, brilliant weather and some good golfing action. Mick Devlin Managing Director for DRS donated £500.00 to the charity and the rest of the team brought the sum up to £1,000.00 on the day. The Black Bull had raised over £2,000.00 bringing the total amount collected in excess of £3,000.00. This is a fantastic achievement and a great example of The Black Bull's customers generosity. Looking forward to next year, the event will be held on the 14th June 2009 at Standish Golf Club, see you there!
Charity Golf Day
On Sunday 15th June 2008 Designed Roof Systems are guests to the
annual charity golf match for Breast Cancer at Standish Golf Club (near Wigan). The 12
strong team will play against the hosts "The Black Bull pub" located
on Market Street in the Town.
Tee off time is 1PM and then back to the Pub for the presentation
and some food which has been laid on by the lovely Ann. There'll
be lots of banter and plenty of beer downed as last orders are at
2AM. Check out this website for results and photo's next week.
Firestone UK Forum
30th May 2008 Designed Roof Systems Limited attended the Firestone UK & Ireland Forum. Split over 2 days of team building exercises, fun & games, informative demonstrations and general Firestone EPDM discussions. Designed Roof Systems are very proud to have been awarded licensed status as a Firestone contractor. This award identifies that Designed Roof Systems have installed a high volume of Firestone products over a short period of time.
The Future's Green
Designed Roof Systems now undertake GREEN ROOF installations. With the completion of the new Flamingo House at Chester Zoo, we're very proud and excited to contribute to the protection of the environment.
Green roofs explained
A green roof is a roof of a building that is partially or completely covered with vegetation and soil, or a growing medium, planted over a waterproofing membrane. This does not refer to roofs which are merely coloured green, as with green shingles. It may also include additional layers such as a root barrier and drainage and irrigation systems. Container gardens on roofs, where plants are maintained in pots, are not generally considered to be true green roofs, although this is an area of debate. The term "green roof" may also be used to indicate roofs that utilize some form of "green" technology, such as solar panels or a photovoltaic module. Green roofs are also referred to as eco-roofs, vegetated roofs, living roofs, and greenroofs.
